Germany offers scholarships for researchers who are at risk in their home countries due to their scientific or civic activism in defense of human rights, peace, and democracy. This opportunity is particularly suitable for humanities, arts, social sciences, or law researchers.

IIE Scholar Rescue Fund
Funding for Researchers on an Annual Basis. Who is eligible: Professors, researchers, and public intellectuals from any country or discipline who are under threat, hold a PhD in their field, and possess substantial teaching and/or research experience at a university, college, or any other institution of higher education.
CARA (the Council for At-Risk Academics)
Helping academics from all parts of the world who are forced to leave their homes because of the risk of imprisonment, military conflict, and other violence. CARA works with these people to find them temporary positions at universities and research institutes.

Online English courses with certified teachers and native speakers. There are special scholarships for free tuition. This course is designed for Russians who live in a non-English-speaking country.
Digital Defenders Partnership
This course is suitable for human rights defenders, journalists, activists, or organizations facing digital threats, such as equipment seizure or data loss. Up to €10,000 in financing and assistance with organizing digital security (purchase of new equipment, training) are available.
Artists At Risk
The project is designed to help (including financially) artists from all over the world who face persecution, forced displacement, unjust imprisonment, torture or death threats.
